So I've given the proverbial 2 weeks notice on LJ, after which I will be deleting my account. This is the first post here that hasn't been crossposted there.

So from now on it's DW and FB.

And occasionally Instagram.

I pretty much never use my Tumblr or Twitter. I suppose that could change.

And of course, Pinterest and Librarything and Goodreads.

And, naturally.

It's a wonder we, any of us, get anything done, ever.

I definitively do NOT have a LinkedIn.

But of course I do have an AO3.

You know, I tell my students that I will never get a Snapchat because they should have something where we're not, but the honest truth is, I couldn't handle any more social media in any case.

I'm doing the same thing.

There's a handful of people I'm friends with on LJ who I don't think have DW. I hope they'll get one.

I'm adamantantly opposed to LinkedIn. Actually, it wouldn't help me in getting a new job -- I'm in the public sector and I'd have to teach a 30-minute lesson before being hired. It's not as if someone could just offer me a job there.

I am on Twitter now, but I rarely use it. I mostly use it to connect with various Twitter accounts regarding A Level English Language where there are lots of good links.

No Instagram yet. No Snapchatnor Tumblr. And I haven't written reviews on Goodreads for a while due to lack of time, but I do read your updates.

For me, AO3 means Assessment Objective 3. :) In English language, it's representation and wider context. In English literature, it's also context. In A Level Creative Writing, it's developing critical awareness of their own writing skills and techniques. I found out last week I may be teaching some A Level Drama next year, so I'll find out what AO3 means there soon. ;)

But, yes, I simply don't have time for more social media. You can tell when work is really hectic -- I'm not doing much on any platform!

I'm watching LJ & still cross-posting for those few friends who stick there, but DW feels a lot more safe.

I hate to say that I'm there on all of those other social media sites you mention. Although my LibraryThing is pretty well abandoned and Tumblr gives me headaches.

In that sense, it's almost a relief to ditch LJ -- one less place to keep track of. I'll still be doing the Herald there, though, so...

I just started watching Portlandia for the first time and I feel like this sketch is relevant:)

I am making the move. Just checked in here and all my LJ stuff has moved over. My icons didn't arrive so I need to work out an easy way to shift them then I think I will be deleting LJ.

Hi there :-)
It's taken me a while to access this account, I haven't used it since I first tried it out in 2009. I'm so used to the LJ interface (and I've personal journals there that I use much more than the anicca_anicca2 one), so I'm not sure yet what to do.
Anyway, hi! *waves*
