So, I've never liked high heels. I'm perfectly satisfied with my height, and I'm kind of clumsy (as in I occasionally trip on nothing), and I walk a *lot*. I used to wobble around in pumps as part of my work "uniform" (along with a suit, and pearls), and they gave me corns and I always ended up jamming the stilettos in the sidewalk grating, so once I didn't need to wear them, I didn't. I have some pretty, dressy shoes in the back of the closet and I pull them out when necessary for the outfit and occasion, but even though the heels rarely top two inches, I'm just not a fan.

Except now with the heel pain I've discovered that heels, since they throw the weight on the balls of my feet, are a nice change. I couldn't wear them every day, necessarily, but I just ran my errands in a pair of Aerosoles (cushy-soled) slides with two inch kitten heels, and it was actually kind of comfortable. Whereas my wonderful (and pricey) Cydwoq flats left me limping by the end of the last day I wore them.

Weird.
