I definitely have to read Black Powder War; I've just got a borrowed copy of Salman Rushdie's Shalimar the Clown I need to read first. . . .
I liked the Tennant series, though not as much as I did the Eccleston. The writing seemed less consistent and Rose was sometimes annoying, whereas I loved her in the previous season. Certain eps were amazing, and fwiw my husband, who remembers the original series much more than I felt like Tennant was more of a "real" Doctor. They're worth seeing, they're enjoyable, but Nine is still "my" Doctor.
