Off to Buffalo to visit my parents for 'til Monday. M. isn't coming (can't get the time off from work), so this'll be the longest time we've spent apart since his "bachelor trip" last September. Due to an odd conjunction of planning (you don't tell Harlan Ellison or the U.S. Embassy in London that you need to change the date), after visiting me for two weeks, he managed to fly from NYC to L.A., head off to Vegas, back to L.A. for a couple of days including dinner with the Ellisons, and back to London to pick up his fiance visa in the space of six days.

This trip is going to be a good deal less energetic. Mmm, the shady back deck. :-)
