The Onion has kidnapped my Farscape DVDs
Apr. 30th, 2004 08:33 pmSeriously.
They sent an intern the other day; M. handed over all our first season Farscape DVDs.
Now there is a big gaping hole on the shelf where they live.
Two new babies: my cousin Laura had a son (her first, the second among all my first cousins; M.'s brother is my only chance at a niece or nephew and first he's got to meet someone) and my friend Corinne in France had a daughter. Yay babies. Cards bought, Books of Wonder still to go. (I always buy children's classics for babies; start building their libraries for them.)
Monday had dinner with Patti. She and her husband are moving to West Virginia, to a house they're building on a farm. I'll probably see her at one more group event. But we had such a fun evening; I hate it when friends move away and I never got to know them as well as I'd have liked to. It's an NYC thing, I guess. We've all got so many balls in the air. Anyway, we've got an invite to a farm in West Virginia, possibly without indoor plumbing. We shall certainly go at some point.
Thursday there was a faculty wine tasting; then M. and I went to our new favorite Indian with our friend Bo, who wanted to celebrate our anniversary. (Monday was the first anniversary of our church wedding, you see; our "real" anniversary came and went mostly noted by parents since nobody was actually invited to that one, but we've been getting cards for this one, since it's the one that's tangible to people.) Bo discovered she liked Indian food (it would have been kind of tragic, otherwise), and generally a pleasant evening all around.
Started my first freelance project of the summer. Speaking of juggling . . .

Date: 2004-05-01 05:49 pm (UTC)A few of our friends are into it; some of my LJ buddies too, notably
I'm actually really curious why the Onion needed to borrow it. (We're not on close personal terms with the whole staff or anything; one of the writers is a friend of M.'s, and their office is a block from our apartment.) Also kinda sorry it was season one they wanted, as it's pretty weak 'til well into the season when they really started hitting their stride.
