Oct. 16th, 2004 02:10 pmI've never bothered with filters, but I just realized that of course my friends-locked posts go to all the communities I'm signed onto.
Can anyone tell me how I might get the friends locked posts to go ONLY to individuals on my Flist, not to communities? I realize because of when I'm posting this that not too many people may see it, so I'll ask again if nobody responds. Thanks!

Date: 2004-10-16 12:21 pm (UTC)I'm just guessin'.
I do know if you go to friends tools and make a group, leaving out all your communities, you can make sure they can't see it, but you have to remember to friends lock it using "custom" and the name you used for that group of friends.
I don't know if that made sense or not. :(

Date: 2004-10-17 07:13 am (UTC)BTW, caras galadhon, I'm skipping ICFA this year because I'm trying to defend by the end of the school year. But my husband and I had such a terrific time last year that once I'm done we're hoping to become regulars. So I'll be looking forward to your report!

Date: 2004-10-17 11:31 am (UTC)That's exactly why. My journal isn't on my Flist either, but since I am the originator of locked posts, I can see them while I'm logged in, whether I'm viewing someone else's Flist that has listed me as a friend (whether I've listed them back or not), or a community's Flist when I'm a member. So no worries. ^_^

Aww. I was hoping to see you there this year, but the defense comes first, after all. Good luck on it! I'm sure it'll be a huge weight off your shoulders once you're done, and of course the ICFA and the rest of us will be waiting. *G*

Date: 2004-10-17 07:49 am (UTC)Go to manage friend and choose Edit Custom Friends Groups. Choose new, then the rest should be intuitive. Let me know if you have any other questions.
