Dec. 13th, 2005 02:37 pmSomeone on my f-list was just asking about Barnes & Noble University. Reading which, it occurred to me that perhaps someone here might be interested: I'm leading a class there next month on Virginia Woolf's Night and Day. It's a more traditional narrative than her later work (not at all stream of consciousness) but definitely worth reading, so come check it out!
And someone else mentioned that the CBC is going to be showing Dr. Who: The Christmas Invasion on December 26. We're going to be at my parents' from the 25th to the 27th, and they live near the Canadian border, and their cable company does carry the CBC. I don't know why I'm so excited about that, since I'm sure we'll be downloading it anyway, but . . . Doctor Ten! Actual broadcast! Yipee! (And no, it never occurred to me to ask them to tape the show for us. My parents are somehow incapable of following simple instructions that involve videotaping; it just never goes right, even when they remember to do it.)

Date: 2005-12-14 08:11 pm (UTC)We have digital cable because I never had cable at all until after the broadcast towers went down on 9/11 and I couldn't see having them hook up the regular kind when I figured we'd all be switching over in a year or two anyway. I'd actually probably cancel it again (I don't watch much tv and would rather rent DVDs!), but my husband is spoiled, used to having Sky in England. ;-)

Date: 2005-12-14 02:46 pm (UTC)I also wondered how this was translated to the US version - whether the Vince character was a fan of some iconic US tv show.
Anyway, hopefully these will be of a size that you will be able to read - if not I can email the original scans (photobucket resizes etc blah...) I have liked David Tennant in other things he has done (notably a series called "Blackpool" and he was also Casanova, although I didn't see that). Hope you enjoy
