Mar. 1st, 2004 08:48 amLogged on mostly to see how many people logged on after the RotK sweep last night to exclaim. Not many on my friendslist, though I expect when I get on again this evening that'll have changed. I never would have thought I'd get *bored* hearing LotR called out again; still, well deserved and much jubilation at our place, though I confess after Eugene Levy and ?? performed their song from A Mighty Wind in character I kinda wanted that song to win.
M. back to work today -- this past week was so delightful and made me realize how much I wish he worked in a field where he'd got evenings and weekends free like a regular person. However, he seems to be getting a fairly steady Wednesday/Thursday off schedule, which isn't too bad, really, since I don't teach on Fridays.
A birthday lunch with "the girls" Sunday, for Bo and Felicia -- since M. was off he came along and made things co-ed. :-) Hit the big ToysRUs in Times Square searching for a Boromir figure, which we failed to find, but M. got a truly good Treebeard, insisted I had to have Aragorn, and bought me a plastic lightsaber so we can have battles. He'd got one for Christmas, because he really, really wanted one. How very grown-up and sophisticated are we? ;-)
Got to see
jennetj and her roommate -- dinner at the Brick Lane Curry house on East Sixth, which advertises itself as British-style Indian, was excellent, and had even my cranky Brit conceding it was the best Indian he's had "in the US."
