ten things? seven, maybe . . .
Feb. 27th, 2005 05:35 pmThe meme that's been sweeping LJ - and impressing me with the many unique things my Flist has done. I'm not sure I've got a full ten, but here are ten things I've done that at least you might well not have:
1. Wore a wedding dress that didn't hide my tattoo.
2. Was publicly approved of by Harlan Ellison. (I wasn't there, but apparently he announced to an entire Barnes & Noble autograph line that my husband got a good one.)
3. Was told by a former Buffy writer I was on a panel with that my take on an episode he wrote (The Zeppo) was dead on. (At the time, I'd been pretty much told I was wrong by a whole list, so this made me very happy.)
4. Met my husband when he heckled the same panel.
5. My father married me. (Uh, he's a Lutheran minister. He performed the ceremony.)
6. The wedding was mentioned in The Onion. One of those "see inside" things that has no text inside. (But we have the writer's assurances it was us!)
7. The band that played at our reception was not only not a "wedding band" but was a band I go see play in clubs, and own CDs by.
8. Learned to drive on a car with a V-8 engine. Vroom.
9. Read all of Proust twice, though not in French. (This is the one I fully expect to find out half of you have done!)
10. There is no 10.
It's sad how many of these have to do with the wedding. I mean, I was never one of those "Dream Day" kinda gals. Maybe that's why so many of the things are a bit on the unusual side.
