More of that Meme
Aug. 30th, 2020 06:49 pmF: What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? What fandom was it?
I still love Buffy, but I haven't been active in the fandom in a long while. That would be Alias Smith and Jones again. I was active from 1996ish to about 2000, and then found my old stories, was inspired to write again, and made some lovely friends around late 2017. But there was a long fallow period in there.
G: What was your first fandom?
Actively? I guess Star Wars? At least it was the first thing I had a fannish community around. First online fandom was Forever Knight, and I still keep in touch with some people from then, even though it was a good 25 years ago.
H: Do you prefer live action TV shows or animated TV shows?
Live action. I've never been much of an anime person.
I: Has online caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
Sleepy Hollow, though the producers managed to sink it themselves after the wonderful first season. It was my first experience with people yelling at each other and blaming other fans (as opposed to blaming the showrunners).
M: Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
It would be fun to hang out with Wynonna Earp, though I know I couldn't keep up for very long. But maybe Carol Danvers -- Captain Marvel would be fun and you'd get to go flying. Or Rupert Giles, but I'd kinda want to date him if I was single.
N: Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
In The Alienist, I'd like to see more John/Sara -- people having been yelling on the Internet, but not so much ficcing. A different group really.
In Wynonna Earp, I'd like to see more attention paid to Doc. Again, Wayhaught are adorable, but he is so very much my type and he gets overlooked in the fandom.
In Jessica Jones, more fixit fic for the series that makes it consistent with the comics. Or maybe I just need to read more of the comics? At least when Jessica/Luke broke my heart on TV I could keep whispering "Married in the comics! Married in the comics!" Also more fixit fic for Trish, generally.
