That Alphabet Meme
Aug. 29th, 2020 08:59 pmBecause I don't seem to post here often enough and maybe this will keep me talking for awhile.
A: Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
I am boring and predictable. John/Sara on The Alienist. (glares at screen). Wynonna/Doc on Wynonna Earp. (Yes, Wayhaught are awesome and I love them too. But I especially adore the dysfunction of this pairing. Plus Doc is so my type.) Deckerstar on Lucifer. (Or how to do a slow burn right.)
B: A pairing – platonic, romantic or sexual – that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
Wow. Hmmm. I usually see the chemistry -- romantic or friendship -- or I don't. The adorably enthusiastic Wynonna Earp fandom has definitely got me thinking more about Wynonna & Nicole's friendship.
C: A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
John/Violet on The Alienist. (glares at screen). I was less crazy about Buffy/Angel than a lot of folks; I definitely shipped Buffy/Spike before it was canon.
D: What was the first thing you ever contributed to a fandom?
So I wrote a Star Wars story about other Jedi, like long before there were extended universe novels and animated series and etc. And nobody cared. I was in high school and it was in a fanzine, where you didn't really expect much feedback. Just kind of ironic.
E: Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what?
Alias Smith and Jones (once again my primary writing fandom) -- a friend and I wrote something called the Snarkathon that still gets hits and quoted over two decades later. The website she created is utterly adorable; it was state of the art in the 90s.
I guess that's enough for today.
