Will and Carrie

chelseagirlI'm catching up on the third season of Homeland; have been watching Hannibal recently and am remembering that Claire Danes is married to Hugh Dancy . . .
it strikes me that her character, Carrie Matheson, and his character, Will Graham, are pretty much the same person. OK, the tone of the shows is very different, their actual diagnosis is different, but they are both the brilliant but unstable loner with Serious Psychological Issues who knows things that nobody else knows. Who is drawn to darkness but . . . who ends up locked up, who gets involved in elaborate set ups, etc.
And, you know, Carrie is sleeping with Brody and seems like everyone figures Will might as well be sleeping with Hannibal (Alana being the classic "triangulated" figure through whom they express their displaced desire, and I assume that most of the fic is Will/Hannibal anyway).
I can just so picture them at the dinner table, doing their character "homework" together, with a copy of DSM-IV in front of them.
