So this is my second Yuletide (I know, what a newbie!) and I'm excited to be playing again.

Generally, I like things that are character-driven, and I'm not so much in it for the erotica, though if you go with one of my requested ships, you can feel free to run with it. I tend more towards gen, het and femslash. Overall, I have a particular interest in female characters.

The Hour. I love this show, I miss this show, I adore all of the main characters and I prefer the canon 'ships. Lix/Randall would delight me especially, almost any way you imagine them (past, present, future, happy, desperately unhappy, working their way towards a commitment, too messed up to commit, whatever). But really anything with these characters, including plotty gen, Bel/Freddy, and Lix/anyone (male or female). Please no dead Freddy; I console myself for the final episode with the knowledge that Ben Whishaw had intended to appear in the third season, had there been one.

The Bletchley Circle. Another show that needed to get more seasons! Anything about the main quartet, in any combination. Another investigation. A story set during the war. A romance between two of the women. The relationship between any of the women and their canonical husbands/romances. I'm especially interested in the disconnect between who they became during the war and the way society (and the Official Secrets Act) tried to contain them afterwards.

The Tempest. Due to changing jobs, this spring will be the first one in a decade that I'm not teaching the play. It would be amazing to console myself with some fic. I'm especially interested in Miranda growing up on the island, anything from Caliban's perspective ("this island's mine by Sycorax my mother" after all, and I tend towards the postcolonial reading), or the relationship between Ariel and Prospero. That can be entirely psychological, one of oppression or genuine esteem, however you see it. And it can be sexual -- Derek Jarman's film version always suggests that to me . . . Plus, while nowadays both Prospero and Ariel are usually played by men, I've seen versions with (and there was a long tradition of) a female Ariel, and there's also the occasional a female Prospero/a, so however you personally cast them is fine by me.

Loved both The Hour and Bletchley Circle! The scene where Susan finally tells her husband what she really did during the war was painfully beautifully played.
