A reliable source tells me that on the subways, there are advertisements for Crank 2: He Was Dead. Now He's Better.

I'm only seeing it if Jason Statham has come back as a zombie.

LOM-US drops the ball once again: Having Sam and Annie stand together on a six-storey roof just didn't have the same impact as the "Stay" scene in 1.1 of the original, where that building had some serious height. And dismissing Frank Morgan in a single ep? Maybe if they'd had the full season (22 eps instead of 17) they would have done something with it, but it was pretty anticlimactic after the phone calls and etc. I just keep hoping that the final ep. doesn't depress me as much as the original did (once I read the interview that told me Sam *had* killed himself, not traveled back in time. I *still* believe he traveled back in time, dammit). Gotta say, though, I do like the soundtrack to this version -- most of the songs bring back memories.

And I'm both very annoyed and mildly pleased over a certain Ashes spoiler:We knew we couldn't get lucky enough that Sam would be the guest star from LOM who was being touted to turn up this series, but I was really hoping for Annie. I guess then we'd have to find out more about what happened to Sam, and that can't be, but I just feel like my girl's getting dissed again. Although there were interesting hate-sparks between Gene and Jackie Queen, so once I get over my disappointment, I'll be intrigued to see what they do with her.

I really don't give that interview much weight. They just pissed me off so much posting it immediately and quashing debate (well, and fandom pissed me off by using it that way), and I really think they didn't presented the episode the way they thought they did. Down with authorial intent! ;)

Yup; I was heavily involved in the fandom at the time and I kept making that argument, but mostly people weren't buying it . . .

It works pretty well in my classes, what with the authors having been dead for a long while ;-) , although slightly less well in my Salman Rushdie class because of how he's become such a very public figure these days.

I'm pretty sure that in this one, his heart has actually been removed and replaced with a battery powered one. This time he has to keep zapping himself to charge up his ticker. I wish I were kidding.

Yeah, somehow the internet seems to be giving some authors more authority rather than less. All I keep saying is that you don't wake up from complicated brain surgery with all your hair in place, so.....yeah. ;)

Also, he seemed to change the future by actions in the past. The premise of the whole first ep -- his saving Maya -- only makes sense if 1973 is real. Otherwise there was really nothing at stake there.
