from Steampunk World's Fair. There was so much to do, so many great people, and so many fabulous clothes to do it in . . . ;-) Even getting a decent night's sleep, I'm exhausted.

Because it was both a festival and a con, there was a ton of music to see, and I got to see a fair bit: Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Psyche Corporation, Voltaire, Professor Elemental (British neoVictorian rapper and yes, every bit as funny as that sounds), plus bits of the Emperor Norton Stationary Marching Band, HUMANWINE, and Coyote Run. Selections from a recently closed steampunk-costumed production of Twelfth Night. A steampunk fashion show.

And fabulous panels: Steampunk and Social Issues, Women in Steampunk, Multicultural Steampunk, and The Punk in Steampunk.

Plus amazing people, including some of my book group buddies, some people I've met a little through NYSteam gatherings, and some very pleasant and friendly authors (Leanna Renee Hieber, Emilie P. Bush).

Even though I'm on total overload right now, I loved this event and pretty much everything about it, except the hotel food. Also, what could possibly be bad about listening to rock bands while dressed like a character from Masterpiece Theater?

It was really the most enjoyable con I've been to -- I think it was the combination of panels/normal con stuff plus performances, and the chance to get dressed up!

Hopefully you will be able to come with us next time . . .

It sounds so fun! If you want to write more about it later on, I will be very happy to read.

That *was* my lengthy post. We'll see -- if I recovery energy-wise before my first freelance project hits. ;-)

I know, right? It was just *so* much fun.

We did get to see Professor Elemental in his Sunday show -- so funny!

I've enjoyed Voltaire at cons for years. I have several of his CDs if you want to borrow. :-)

There were wristbands for certain shows that they thought would get more attendance -- mostly you could stroll up and get them whenever, but his apparently went in seven minutes. Luckily A. grabbed me a ticket as I was off doing something else at the time.
