Within the past day, I have purchased:
2 pairs of wellington boots, one for each of us
1 new cat carrier, just in case
4 gallons of bottled water, plus I've been filling up empty bottles from our Brita jug
huge bag of dry cat food
We have located among our belongings:
lots of candles
a battery operated radio with lots of replacement batteries.
I am running to the grocery store in a few moments and I'll pop by again on my way back from my workspace later today.
I figure the more prepared we are, the better the chances are this will all be nothing . . .

Date: 2011-08-26 03:25 pm (UTC)I remember taping up my windows sometime in the 80s, and it was just heavy rain then, too. I'm hoping that the stocking in of supplies is one of those ritual behaviors that staves off the necessity of using them.
