Copper anyone? I'm only half-watching because I'm meeting a rush deadline, but I'm intrigued by the glimpses I'm getting, and looking forward to sitting down and really watching, in a few days.
I enjoyed it. A big part of tonight seemed to be setting up Mysterious Dynamics between people, but that's fine, I'm quite willing to watch and see what happens over time.
I don't get the channel, unfortunately, but I'll keep an ear open and look forward to streaming it someday if it turns out well.
The NYT review was mixed; they loved the lead actor's work, but nitpicked the storytelling execution. I would give it more episodes to sort itself out, but of course the reviewer doesn't have that luxury (and complaining that the show is excessively socially conscious doesn't exactly turn me off).
Even better, I am currently meeting my deadline on Amtrak, and taking a break to check stuff on wifi! Super-luxury. Although if I get a seatmate in Rochester or Syracuse, it's downhill from there, as I am currently using the seat next to me for the book pages I'm indexing from . . .
I liked it okay, but am not fully sold. Maybe I'm over the "cop-who-plays-by-his-own-rules" genre or wish a new Irish stereotype or two would get foregrounded or just spend too much time thinking about historical criminal forensics. I'll definitely watch a few more before I decide.
