Yuletide Dear Author

chelseagirlHi, Yuletide writer! This is my first time participating, and I’m kind of giddy about it – for years I’ve watched my friends exchange, but it's a bad time of year for me -- I teach so semester's end -- but this year, I’m going to take the plunge.
If you look for me online, I’m afraid you won’t find much – my A03 account is brand new. I was once an active fic writer, but it was awhile ago (Forever Knight, Alias Smith and Jones – mostly up under my real name because we were so naïve in those days); My Life on Mars fic is up on LJ, and I did participate in that fandom’s Martian Holiday exchange three years running.
But because I’m not that active, I don’t have too many preconceptions. I *do* prefer stories with female characters featured prominently – five of my six requested fandoms make that clear, though the sixth is all about the boy. I tend to prefer gen, het, and femslash, but would enjoy m/m slash in my fandoms as long as the female characters don’t get sidelined.
My requested fandoms:
Sleepy Hollow: I’m guessing this one will be too big for Yuletide by next year, but for now, I’m hoping to see lots of great fic as part of this exchange. I have unexpectedly fallen head over heels for the show and want *anything*! I’m all about Abbie & Crane friendship, though I’d also be interested in Abbie/Crane or Crane/Katrina romance, and if you can write it plausibly, Abbie/Katrina or Abbie/Crane/Katrina. Also Abbie & Jennifer backstory, Crane & Katrina backstory, and anything with Corbin or Andy. Or Captain Irving. Mythology fic, casefic, fish-out-of-water humor, ‘shippy stuff, anything about this show will make me happy. I’d prefer Corbin be kept a father figure, but if Corbin/Abbie or Corbin/Jennifer is your passion, I don’t want to squash your muse. Er, no Headless sex, please.
The Hour: The last episode of this show really traumatized me, so please, no dead Freddie for the holidays! I’m sure it would be an excellent story and I’d happily read it another time, but . . . post-series Freddie alive, Freddie recovering, even Freddie permanently physically (though not mentally) damaged would be fine. Things I would especially like: Freddie & Bel friendship, Freddie/Bel romance, Lix & Randall friendship, Lix/Randall romance (past , present or future), Lix/anyone anything (she’s very femslash-able, imo, and really any friendship, romance, or casual sex with anyone female or male would be awesome). Hector/Marnie complicated relationship stuff is good too. If Freddie/Hector is your pleasure, I certainly would enjoy a Freddie/Hector/Bel OT3, but please don’t leave Bel out in the cold.
The Middleman: This show was an utter delight. I confess to a fondness for Middleman/Lacie romance, and to Wendy awesomeness, and anything with Noser, because even more awesomeness. But pretty much anything in the spirit of the show, casefic or anything at all, would be glorious.
Lord Peter Wimsey: Here’s where I’m most persnickety. I’m all about Harriet Vane, and about Peter/Harriet. Any kind of story at all
that features Harriet, with Peter or before, would make me happy. Relationship fic, casefic, domestic fic with all the kids they eventually have, Harriet at Shrewsbury College or among the London bohemians. Would also love to see the Dowager Duchess, Bunter, and especially, if you should feel moved, Miss Katharine Climpson, with or without her detective agency. Any of the Shrewsbury faculty would also be delightful. And if you’re eccentric like me, a Harriet/Philip Marlowe crossover would be nifty.
Philip Marlowe: Anything with Marlowe would be great. Casefic, cynical Marlowe angst, casual sex with a woman or a man. And, as above, if you wanted him to meet up with Harriet Vane, that would be cool, but certainly not required.

Date: 2013-10-09 03:08 pm (UTC)Normal Yuletide experience is to absolutely hate your prompt, but then after the struggle, decide that you're really pleased with the story after all.
Obviously you won't be able to wander through the archive as soon as it opens, but I think you'll have more fun reading Yuletide stories when you finally have the chance knowing that *yours* is one of them.
PS Don't Panic if it looks like your story didn't post, there are ways to check that it did on your A03 Dashboard.
