Wow. I know that was a lot last entry but I guess I scared everyone off . . .

But I posted a much, much, much condensed and much more discreet version on FB the next day. I never do that because FB is too public, but three work friends came by the check up on me during the day and people contacted me to make plans and some of you responded over there.

So I guess it is okay to ask for help sometimes.

I posted on Halloween and I was in the middle of a meltdown, mostly about work/professional stuff but with self-doubt of my creative abilities, a touch of seasonal affective disorder, and also the anniversary of my only sibling's death all mixed in . . .

Just not my best day. I thought I might have been overstepping here. And I'm always super-discreet/happy-seeming on FB, and this was the first time I melted down a little there, and I was amazed at the response. (It helps that I have work friends on there . . . people came by the office to cheer me up . . . )

No. Firmly no, not overstepping.

I always second guess my posts that are personal and about my struggles, too, but I never think anything negative about those kinds of posts on my flist.

I *want* to know when you're blue or struggling, and I may not always know what to say back or have advice or pick up on the most salient point in the post (to whit, that I missed in your previous post that it was the anniversary of your sibling's death which is a horror I can't imagine, and I'm so sorry for that loss), but this is the place to post those things.

I have a lot of the same anxiety about classes making in the summer; fortunately, I teach online in the summers those classes almost always make. It can be so nerve wracking watching those numbers, though.

I'm so sorry I didn't respond to the previous post--really did not know what to say, especially since "sorry" or "hugs" seemed so inadequate.

Will read your fic, once I am through the throes of Yuletide and NaNo. But your work is always enjoyable, even if I don't know the fandom very well.

In any case, I'm late in saying you are wonderful, and I'm so lucky to know you.
