A response I wrote on Facebook:

"I was completely uninterested, but my partner wanted to watch. We are now both hooked and more than halfway through. The visuals are amazing, I love what they've done with the robot, and Molly Parker and Toby Stephens are both favorites from other things they've done. And though the pilot was slow going, the storytelling since has been compelling."

Seriously. This won't reach fandom level for me, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Alma Garrett and Captain Flint in space, had I realized it was going to be them, would have been enough to get me to watch. But only Parker Posey seems to be getting any notice. (Also, awesome Bill Mumy cameo! Unusually, I spotted him before M did.)

I last watched the original show when I was in grade school, and my brother had the toy robot, or maybe I did.
Not even sure anymore, just that we had one. I wasn't at all impressed with the movie reboot when I finally saw it on tv. But this version actually is managing a more complicated story, and is taking the characters seriously.
