Saw Captain America. Both sides have a point; the problem is that Tony is more annoying than Steve. Also, that I'd already seen the AoS that followed up and listened to Coulson and May take Steve's side. And also, as a nigh-obsessive Peggy fan, have to take that side.
Very frustrated by her funeral scene. Nice to see Steve as pallbearer, and to see how many people came out for Our Peg, but a) why was it in London when she seems to have lived most of her life in the US? and b) I know the Sharon bit advanced the plot as did the Natasha follow-up, but I was frustated at what we didn't see. Might have to fic that. Her son Michael Sousa shaking Steve's hand and all that . . .
This week's Penny Dreadful was . . . so amazing. I was nervous about the closed-room story getting tedious or painful, but Vanessa, Dr. Seward, and John-Clare-for-the-moment have become my favorite characters, so it was pure "oh, wow, this is good!" And since the Creature has an often-thankless role, it was nice to see Rory Kinnear play his original self, such a kind man, and also be apparently possessed by Lucifer *and* Dracula.
Hmm, and Lucifer seemed to be afraid of Dracula . . .
Eva Green knocked it out of the park, of course. She gets a chance to show what she can do more often than Kinnear does, but she's just brilliant.
Officially my online summer I (the next 5 weeks) class started today.
So different from the in-person summer teaching I've done. Nice to not lose my whole summer to long classes that meet 3-4 times a week. I just hope they take it seriously. But it is a senior capstone and most of them will be taking this as their last class -- they probably walked last week -- so I will pass them.
But they don't get As unless they work for them. C is a passing grade, after all.
Also, recording myself on Camtasia Relay . . . turns out I hate my own voice. Now I understand why M sometimes thinks I'm being snippy or dismissive, if that's what I sound like . . . I had to redo it a few times because I was learning the tech, forgot to turn the camera on once, Aeryn decided she was in love with me for another take, the phone rang during another . . . But I got better, so my weekly reading post (no camera on me!!!!) will get easier and next time I'll do good . . .

Date: 2016-05-24 01:02 am (UTC)Oh Camtasia...we had that at the library for awhile and I actively avoided it. I did something on Screencast-o-matic way back when I first started and I remember doing that over and over and over...our Virtual Services person just messaged me last week about making something to show staff how to set up a Minecraft server so I suppose I will be diving into whatever program we have now. I FEEL YOUR PAIN!

Date: 2016-05-24 05:45 pm (UTC)How weird is an on-line course, besides recording yourself, as compared to an in-person class?
