Question about setting:

Mine is set in late 19th century NYC -- same place I live, but at a very different time. I'm planning to do a lot of self-guided historical walking tours this summer, and to visit some of the house museums like the Tenement Museum and the Old Merchant's House to get a more solid sense of internal spaces. My viewpoint character comes from out West, so she sees everything through the eyes of an outsider.

If these get too frequent or annoying, I'll set up a writing filter or move them over to the Christabel journal. But considering how rarely I post here, I figure no one will really mind . . .

I've never been there, and I now live quite close. I've been to the Old Merchants' House before, but never with an eye to a setting.

This has been in the works since last summer, but I managed to trip myself up. So I've been writing a lot of semi-related fanfic to loosen up, so to speak. Excited to focus on the project now for awhile . . .

The Tenement Museum is great, but be prepared for a lot of stairs.

Up's not a problem. Down is only a problem on rainy days . . . so I will plan my visit accordingly! (I damaged my left knee over this past year; it's healing up on its own and is much better, but it's still not 100% so I really should have it seen to.)

Ooh, this sounds great to me. :) I write some historical stuff - nothing set in that exact time period, but hopefully this will be inspirational for me to get back to work on those projects as well!
