Anyone else excited that Wynonna Earp is starting?

I got into the series belatedly, so this is the first time I'm starting a season in real time.

Or actually, I watched the sneak preview of tonight's episode on Tuesday, which delightfully turned out to be the whole episode. I am visiting the Aged Parents this weekend, and mom now sleeps on the living room couch. We moved their bedroom downstairs, but dad's sleep is so disrupted that she prefers to sleep on the couch. So me trying to watch Wynonna on their living room tv probably wouldn't go so well.

Me trying to explain why I'm watching a show set in the modern day where Doc Holliday is shooting demons would just require more explanation than I can muster, although me watching a show where a woman in a leather jacket kicks ass is pretty much what I think they expect of my viewing habits.

Not excited per se - I'm not up to date, I'm midway through season 2.

I'm super stoked, and haven't actually got the episode yet.

It is pretty high concept though, yes :D

Can I say how much I love your Doc icon?

The best way I can explain it to people is that since Buffy & Jessica Jones & Agent Carter are my favorite things in the world, and Deadwood & Alias Smith and Jones are my other favorite things in the world, and then they add a serious dose of Lost Girl in its cheesiness but more importantly its feminism and sex positivity, it's like someone put all my tropes in a blender and came out with this show.

Yeah. I need more WE icons. I only have these two. Her flipping the bird while making a kissy face might be required.

I usually describe is as "Sort of like Hercules/Xena era fantasy tv, if it were a contemporary weird western set in Alberta." Or more literally "It's about the great granddaughter of Wyatt Earp, who is cursed by the demon versions of everyone Wyatt ever killed, and is trying to kill them all again, with the help of her bi little sister and her girlfirend, her boss who may be a dragon, and Doc Holliday who is immortal now, and in Canada." Usually if you say all that, they get an idea of the tone.

That's a pretty great icon, as well. I've found a few adoptable ones, but I'm going to have to remember how I used to occasionally make them, in the heyday of LJ.

It would be fun to get different people's descriptions, or attempts at descriptions, and see how they stack up.
