And Yet More Meme
Sep. 3rd, 2020 08:51 pmBecause people over on Facebook have been comforting me over the debacle of Converged Learning, and cheering my bounceback -- let's talk about something entirely fun over here!
O: Choose a song at random, what ship does it remind you of?
Speaking of David Bowie, because I always am,"Heroes" is little black dress of fandom songs. I could apply it to almost any ship, any show.
P: Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
Hmmm, Wynonna Earp in actual OK Corral days? Wynonna is the, um, saloon gal with a heart of gold and an unerring shot, Waverly is the pretty schoolmarm, Nicole is still the sheriff, though she gets a lot of guff for being a woman sheriff, and Doc Holliday is still Doc Holliday. (I'm not great at AUs because it's generally the world of a show that draws me in.)
Q: A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
I mostly just drift away, Forever Knight, Life on Mars, the show ends and gradually I don't think about it so much anymore, or there's no one to talk about it with. The exception is Buffy, which I still think about and rewatch more regularly.
R: Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
I loved Jessica & Trish in Jessica Jones until that went badly wrong. Hannibal Heyes and Kid Curry in Alias Smith and Jones.
S: Show us an example of your personal headcanon.
In Agent Carter, I am firmly convinced that Rose Roberts can do nearly anything any other agent can, and probably much better, if only given the chance. (I guess we kind of see that in the second season, but I think it goes further.) And Peggy brings her to SHIELD, when she becomes director, because Rose is the one person who she can trust to tell her the truth, even if it's unflattering.
T: Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
That Jessica Jones and Luke Cage belong together in the tv universe as well as the comics one? But that's a 'ship.
U: Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
V: Which character do you relate to most?
W: A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
X: A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom
Y: What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
Z: Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go!

Date: 2020-09-06 10:51 am (UTC)JJ and LC are still worth watching, but I just kept muttering "married and with adorable daughter Dani (named after guess who) in the comics" a lot.

Date: 2020-09-06 02:47 pm (UTC)I prefer season one, but if I liked the first half of season 2 as much as I like the second half, it would supplant season one for me.

Date: 2020-09-06 10:53 am (UTC)Oh yes, I still find myself saying things like "I exhibit no surprise" or "yay me" often. Especially to my partner who I know will get where they came from.
