Introduced Irene to Eddie Izzard's stand-up yesterday. I knew if I could get her as far as "cake or death" on the *Dress to Kill* dvd she was doomed. Succeeded.

I've now gone through the wedding pics three times in the last three weeks -- with Irene yesterday, Robin last week, Aunt Isabel the week before. I ought to bring them up to my folks' next weekend, but with 12 rolls of 36 -- uh uh. Not going to happen.

And my cat Cabell's gotten so round that this morning I watched her continuously topple over as she tried to clean herself. Oh dear.

Rooftop birthday party tonight. Should be fun as long as I keep away from the edges.

ah the joys of Eddie Izzard. I thought I couldn't love him more until I saw Cat's Meow. And then my cup runneth over with the Izzard love.

*Cat's Meow* -- don't know that one? Is this one of his films or more standup? Luckily M. is a big fan too, so if I spend the grocery money on UK DVDs, he'll forgive me. ;-)

Cat's Meow is the one where he plays Chaplin during the killing on Hearst's boat. FABULOUS film

Don't know Eddie Izzard. I know the name, but don't really know who he is except he was on Dinner for Five once on IFC (Independent Film Channel).

I'd love to see a rotund Cabell toppling over. Kiki's getting heavier, but not really fat. She's real fluffy, so I had to throw her in the bathtub full of water to see just how she looked.

I did not!

I think she's a vampire kitty because Tweeter stays so thin even though she eats like a pig.

Don't even joke about edges of rooftops. Heights scare me. You stay away, okay? Stick near the bar. Nobody in their right mind would put a bar at the edge of a rooftop. Would they? Have fun!

Eddie Izzard is sheer fabulousness. He is a British transvestite comedian who also acts in a lot of film character roles and recently played a lead on Broadway. He's also, despite the lipstick, mascara and heels, straight, which completely confounds expectations in major ways . . .

Rooftop party went quite safely -- I was less worried for myself than the hostess' 6-year-old. You can actually see stars in Manhattan on a rooftop -- which you really can't from street level because of all the lights.

Eddie Izzard... absolutely bril in Revenger's Tragedy.
Couldn't stand Sophie Dahl though - and no, it has nothing to do with how she looks - and did a mini YESSSS~ when she got done in ;)

Thanks for the link -- this sounds amazing. I love Jacobean dramas! Is this a theatrical or tv release? (We've got a multiregional DVD player, so if it's released in the UK even if it never makes it over here . . . )

Sophie Dahl -- she's the not-thin model and everyone was all excited and then she lost the weight and looks like all the other models now? She can act? Or is that part of the problem . . .

I saw it at Sheffield's one and only 'art movie' theater, The Showroom... so I reckon there's a chance they might show it over there too.

Sophie Dahl's acting consists of one thing - big, startled eyes.
