Had a fun last couple of days, including a going-away party for a friend who's moving to D.C. to do an MSW at Gallaudet University (she's hearing but all the classes will be in sign; she's going down early to do a sign intensive). Went out the next night with J., a friend I do not see enough of -- one of the funniest people I know. We also saw *Seabiscuit*, and may I say how nice it was to go to a movie with no explosions, car chases, gun-, sword-, or laser fights? We even stayed out late enough to meet up with M. at his after-work watering hole. Finally, yesterday a group of us went down to our friend Karen's house near Philly for her birthday.

Karen showed us the "Easter eggs" on the extended FOTK -- jaw dropped during the Council of Elrond "alternate version" when Jack Black's trousers ditto, and the reaction shots to the original scene where so wonderfully edited in. Got to show same to M. today.

New obsession: wondering I can get M. on *Queer Eye for the Straight Guy* -- since all the SGs are in the NY metro area anywhere. He'd be a great "victim/guest" and I'd love them to redo our apartment . . .

And they spare no expense, it seems. Imagine the great clothes and cool furniture... (Alas, no new hair cut would be in order.) ;-)

Got so far as filling out the online questionnaire but it bounced, and other stuff took over (a rush deadline for me; a cv update for him -- there is finally some movement with his management prospects). They've got live tryouts but we haven't got the time; and he's taken Friday off from work to go to a Neil Gaiman reading/signing as it is . . .

They could have trimmed his eyebrows or something. I was more into the apartment redo and some new clothes for him. Plus he'd be a great guest.
