I've now met both my sections at Cooper Union and yes, indeed, I love that school!

The students are smart and lively and someone didn't give them the memo that says it's uncool to participate instead of staring vacantly at your instructor.

And I don't have to teach grammar -- just literature (and writing process and critical thinking and all the non-grammar things that go along with it).

*chelseagirl does the adjunct professor happy dance!*

Alas, must clear the line, as our friend Alister is landing at Newark shortly and will be phoning the apartment -- he's come from the UK for a long weekend. (The kind of crazy thing I would do if I had money . . . Uh, have done without money, come to think of it.)

Yay for the teaching position being FUN! What does the adjunct professor happy dance look like?

I can get to Glasgow for a long weekend next weekend for less than I can get to Vancouver for my birthday. What a bummer.

The adjunct professor happy dance is very silly looking, but much safer than the dissertation defense happy dance, which involves actual fire. ;-)

Yes!!! Great to hear Cooper Union is what you hoped it would be. How wonderful to have classes that are articulate and interested.

On an unrelated note, on Monday, I have an interview for that position (promotion) I applied for. I'll be sitting before several managers fielding hypotheticals. Yipee. . . And I'm told your own manager cannot be present. Poop.

I am always so pleased to have new hoops to jump through. ;-)
